Manel Vallès Rasquera is professor of Machine and Thermal Motors at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). He holds a Ph.D. (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, 2000) and Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Chemistry (Universitat de Barcelona).
He started his professional activity in petrochemical industry and in 1995 he started to work at the URV. He is professor of Machine and Thermal Motors. He teaches subjects in the field of Thermal Engineer and develops research in the field of Energetic Efficiency and Renewable Energies.
He has been director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2011 to 2018. He has been a member of the Advisory Committee of School of Chemical Engineering. He has also been director of Master in Onshore and Marine Wind Energy as well as Specialisation Course in Energetic Efficiency in Industrial and Energetic Plants.
